Do not allow the flailing economy to ruin your marriage. Many couples find themselves arguing more and enjoying each other less as they see their bank account dwindle away to nothingness. Having a solid marriage can help you stay grounded when things are being shaken all around you.

Nurture your marriage by planning regular dates with your husband. Here are 10 ways to have a date on a limited budget.

1. Go to a dollar theater- if you have one in your city.

2. Put the children to bed early and give each other an all over body massage using warm body oil or lotion.

3. Have a picnic in the park. Put down a blanket and after you eat you can lie on the ground and watch the clouds.

4. Rent a movie or two to watch, as you eat buttered popcorn just like in the theater.

5. Plan a camping trip. If your children are going with you, you may want to provide them with their own tent so you can enjoy some privacy.

6. Put your children at a sitter’s house for the night and have a romantic date at home. Get dressed up and enjoy a candlelight dinner.

7. Play a board game- preferably one for couples.

8. Change the look and feel of your bedroom by using different colored light bulbs, candles, flowers, and extra pillows on the bed. Wear a negligee he has not seen you in lately and see where it leads.

9. Go to a free music concert or festival.

10. Pack a lunch and go for a bike ride. When you get tired, stop and have a picnic.

You can have fun in your relationship even when you don’t have the money to go on expensive dates. Keeping your marriage strong will help you have a healthier perspective on life and your financial situation will not seem as overwhelming.
