How to Be Led by the Spirit of God
These past few mornings I have been meditating on Romans 8:14 (For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the children of God.) My thought is that if I am totally led by the Holy Spirit, I can’t fail. I would never make a bad decision, I would never say or do anything I regret. I would know when and how to discipline my children. I would know how to minister to my family members. I would always make wise financial decisions.
But just because I want to be led by the Holy Spirit, doesn’t mean it will automatically happen.
The way I get it to happen is by meditating in the word of God. God’s word has the power within it to bring itself to pass. I start out by repeating over and over again, “I am led by the Holy Spirit. He leads me and guides me into all the truth,” (John 16:13). I also make it personal by saying things like, “He helps me make wise decisions so that I always say and do the right thing at the right time in the right way.
If I am having a particular problem, I say something like, “Because I am led by the Holy Spirit I know how to motivate my son to do his homework” (or respond to my friend when she asks to borrow money again).
Seeking to be led by the Spirit of God is one of the best things we can do to live a successful life. As you meditate on Romans 8:14, you’ll find that certain things just seem like the right thing to do. You will know what to do in situations that used to perplex you. You will say things that bring peace and harmony to situations. You will know what opportunities to pursue and which ones to let go.

First off, I realize I am not a female, but I think the writer is correct, being led by the Spirit is the recipe for a successful Christian life. However there will be times when we will ‘miss it’ this is an opportunity to grow and not feel condemed, this is NOT the Lords plan for your life.
1 John 1:9 is a scripture that will NEVER wear out!!
Keep moving, trusting and always walk in love!!!
God bless
