How to Activate the Word of God: It’s Alive, Just Plant It

April 28th, 2009 by Lorene Troyer

The Word of God will automatically start producing results in your life if it has been planted in good ground.  You don’t have to make it work.  You can’t.  You simply have to plant it, nurture it and keep it watered and it will bring you a crop of good things.

The Word of God is alive (Hebrews 4:12). It’s a living substance.  In Mark 4, the Word is referred to as seed.

Unless the seed is planted into good ground, it does nothing.  Suppose you have a package of seeds in your house.  Two things need to happen for the seeds to grow into strong plants.  First they need to be planted into good soil.  Secondly they need to have the right environment (enough water, sunshine, protection from birds etc.)

The Word of God works the same way.  First it needs to be planted.  You do this by meditating on it, pondering it, studying it or saying it over and over to yourself.

You keep it watered and protected by constantly thinking about it and saying it.  Make the decision to not let anything distract you from caring for  those seeds.

When you do these things, the Word of God will grow automatically. You will not see it grow but you will see the results- you will have more peace, a greater desire for the things of God, an increase in your level of faith and you’ll start seeing those things you are believing for.

Casually reading the Bible will not produce the results you want. Tap into the power of the Word by meditating on it and keeping it watered.  When you take care of your crop,  it will automatically grow and produce what you planted.
